Is your pet a space alien? Japan scientists say “Yes”

Have scientists finally discovered the reason why my dog Gertie is so weird?

Maybe. Here’s why:

10 years ago, Japan sent a space probe to look at an asteroid that’s a long, long way away. It took years to arrive, years to collect samples, and even more years to send them back here to Earth.

But at long last, those samples have been analyzed.

And inside was something pretty crazy.

You see, the asteroid contained 2 compounds (uracil and niacin) that are essential for life on Earth. And so the Japanese scientists believe the compounds originally came here to Earth billions of years ago by crash landing from space.

Which, in a way, would mean that life on Earth came from outer space…

And that our beloved cats and dogs, along with all other life on Earth, are space aliens.

Crazy, right?

But… It kinda fits.

For one thing, my dog being an alien explains all her strange behavior. (Last week Gertie was staring at a particular patch of grass in the garden for about an hour straight…)

And it could also explain why so many pet businesses send such strange, “alien” emails.

What do I mean?

Well - what human being actually WANTS to be pitched to? None that I know. And yet there’s a gajillion pet businesses who send emails that are blatant pitches - and that give their subscribers no reason to read more.

What a waste of time.

What should these pet businesses do instead?

Send emails that first grab the reader’s attention. Then (and only then) redirect their attention onto your product or service.

Simple. Effective. And oh-so-human.

But sadly, not that easy.
