The first rule of Email Club
Did you know:
After Chuck Palahniuk wrote Fight Club back in 1996 (and especially after the Brad Pitt film a little later), "copycat" fight clubs started springing up all over the world.
In the US, Russia, Thailand, and so on.
Some were run by gangs, to "initiate" new members. Others were open to the public, and anyone could turn up and fight. And it’s said that many of these fight clubs are still running to this day.
Apparently, some people really do enjoy violence.
Me?
I'm a lover, not a fighter.
My idea of a good time isn't beating seven shades of sanguine out of someone (or, more likely, getting it beat outta me).
But something I do enjoy is writing marketing emails - for both me and my clients. It's fun for me to just kick back and write about whatever's on my mind at the time. It’s cathartic. And what more can a man ask from his work?
Although... it wasn't always this way.
In fact, when I first started trying to write one email a day (just one!), it was a real struggle.
And looking back, it was because I was so fixated on making each email "perfect".
I constantly fretted about each line - adding things, taking them away. What will people think about this line? Deleting the whole email and starting again. And so on. The whole process just stressed me out.
That was, until I learned the first two rules of Email Club. Maybe you need to learn them, too:
The first rule of Email Club is to enjoy yourself and have fun.
And yes, the second rule of Email Club is to enjoy yourself and have fun.
Because when you’re having fun, it comes across in your pet brand’s emails. You write about more interesting topics. You write in a more interesting way. And best of all, it becomes much easier to motivate yourself to actually write and send the emails.
When you stop worrying so much and have fun, everything just clicks. It’s almost like magic.
And speaking of having fun, why not sign up for my “cuh-raaazy” email newsletter below?
When you do, you’ll get a free booklet that’ll reveal my “S.A.N.E.” formula for getting more sales from your pet brand’s email marketing than you’d ever believe possible.
