James Harrison is dead

I have good news and bad news.

The good news first:

I’m not dead – I’ve just been MIA for a little while (due to busyness, and then illness). So dry your tears, and put away that snazzy funeral outfit. Sorry if I scared you with that subject line, but the truth is that I’m going to live forever. Or at least past 40. Probably.

The bad news:

Today it came out that a man, also called James Harrison, really has died.

And this was no ordinary man. James Harrison was an Australian guy who was dubbed ‘the man with the golden arm’, on account of his saving so many lives with his blood (which was presumably sucked out of his arm).

I won’t pretend to understand the scientific mumbo jumbo… But basically, he had a extremely rare kind of antibody in his blood. And when given to pregnant mothers, it meant their children could be saved from something nasty called rhesus disease.

CNN reports that over his life, James Harrison donated enough blood plasma to save the lives of over 2,000,000 babies. And while the word “hero” gets overused a lot, it seems apt here.

Anyway, this news kinda makes me feel like I have a lot to live up to:

The Australian James Harrison has saved an uncountable number of lives…

There’s also the American James Harrison, who was a huge (both figuratively and literally) NFL linebacker, and who triumphed at two Super Bowls…

And then there’s me. The British James Harrison. Somewhat letting the team down.

But, while I probably won’t be saving the lives of any babies anytime soon, I might be able to help save your pet business.

Because recently, I sat down for a podcast with a woman called Pamela Keniston, the founder of Big Paws Marketing. And I got her to spill the beans on what exactly she does for her clients to explode their bottom lines.

Plenty of golden nuggets in this podcast. You won’t wanna miss it. And it’ll be coming out tomorrow.
